Urgent - Early School Closure Today
Schools Closures Counties Antrim, Londonderry, Tyrone and Fermanagh.
Last night the Met Office issued an Amber weather alert, which covers parts of Northern Ireland from 3pm on Friday until 8pm and is warning of "spell of damaging winds on Friday late afternoon and evening".
Following further confirmation from the Met Office this morning that this upgraded warning will remain in place today I am writing to inform you that all schools located in the areas affected by the amber warning in Northern Ireland are required to close at 12 midday today, Friday 03 October 2025, due to severe weather conditions.
The alert covers the western half of Northern Ireland - counties Antrim, Londonderry, Tyrone and Fermanagh.
It has cited the potential for power cuts and damage to buildings, including a risk of injuries from flying debris.
Children in Nursery, P1, P2 & P3 can be collected from 11.30am along with older siblings. Please let us know if your child is to walk home at 12pm.
We are sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you.
