Fivemiletown P6 met up with St Mary's P6 & 7 for Day 1 of their Shared Education Sports Programme. They played a Round Robin Tournament of Football and Football Tennis and had great fun together. They are looking forward to meeting up on a further four days throughout the year to further develop initial friendships and their sporting skills.

Clogher Valley RFC's Development Officer Eugene McKenna took Primary 6 for sessions on developing their rugby and teamwork skills. The children played some fun games, practised their skills and then used them in some matches. Thanks to Eugene and Clogher Valley RFC for providing this opportunity.

Primary 6 had great fun this week working on their pumpkins. They first of all cleaned them out in the hall with the help of some parent volunteers and then moved into the classroom to carve their own design. They then invited all the other classes to visit them during the week and some of their pumpkins were used to decorate the hall for the Harvest Assemblies.

Primary 6 had a very enjoyable day trip to Navan Centre, Armagh for their Vikings & Monks programme. The children participated in a wide range of activities including meeting a 'real' Viking called Vilk and practising their handwriting in the Viking runic alphabet using a quill feather with ink. This has helped to deepen our understanding of our current World Around Us topic.

Primary 6 enjoyed observing Nature in our school grounds as part of their learning about the Creation Story in R.E. They recorded what they discovered through the medium of art.
