What we have been up to in Primary 5!

On 11th June 1885, the first sod for the Clogher Valley Railway was turned.  One hundred and forty years later, on the 11th June 2025, the children from Primary 5 went on a History Trail around Fivemiletown to find out more about the Clogher Valley Railway.

Primary 5 had a wonderful day of sport at Fivemiletown College on

Tuesday 3rd June.

It was a very well organised event which the children thoroughly enjoyed despite the rain.  Everyone performed really well and many received stickers and medals.

Thank you Fivemiletown College!

The Primary 5 children designed and made boats after looking at pictures of papyrus boats that Ancient Egyptians made.  They tested how well their boats worked in water.  It was amazing the variety of designs that the children came up with.  Some boats worked better than others but we are sure that the Ancient Egyptians would be very proud of what was achieved!

We really enjoyed our school trip to the Navan Centre where we learnt all about Ancient Egypt!

Encouraging skills in our athletics class for PE.

We had the opportunity to experiment with ModRoc and made models of our hands.

Look at the great individuality shown as to how they were decorated!

The children worked in pairs to make their own water filters to clean dirty water.

Primary 5 enjoyed making a lovely tree decoration for Christmas using their designing, measuring and cutting skills.

During our topic of The Great Plague, Primary 5 made their own posies from dried mint, lavender and rosemary.
